The North Aurora Pumping Station Improvements project includes construction of a 31.5 million gallon per day drywell submersible pumping station. Excavation for the structure was 48’ deep into bedrock. A new 42” gravity sewer excavated into 36’ of bedrock brough the raw sewers from a modified junction chamber to the new station. Four (4) drywell horizontal pumps, three (3) crane systems, odor control system, two (2) grinder screens, and mechanical and electrical support systems completed the project. This work also included the decommissioning and partial demolition of the existing North Aurora Pumping Station to be reused in the future by the park district.
